To Whom It May Concern:
The Executive Committee of the Pleasant Valley Association (PVSA) has
tried to incorporate new, interactive, and family-oriented evening activities and
programs into our school. Upon searching for ideas, our principal, Dr. Vincent G.
DiLeo and his brother Stephen DiLeo, recommended a self-defense seminar for Mothers
and their daughters. Since both are black belts in Tae Kwon-Do and run a local academy,
they had the experience and the knowledge to conduct a seminar in a professional and
meaningful manner.
Dr. and Mr. DiLeo, accompanied by numerous other black belts, donated their time and
talents to the fall event. Although Pleasant Valley’s parents were the targeted
participants, the event was open to the public. A nominal fee was charged for the two
hour seminar and proceeds went to benefit PVSA fundraising efforts.
Rave reviews came from the over 125 participants and plans were put in place for a
spring event. PVSA is considering a repeat course as well as an advanced, follow-up
course for the fall attendees.
If your organization is looking for a fun, worthwhile event for your families, please
consider the Self-Defense Night for Mothers and Daughters. It proved to be very
successful for Pleasant Valley Elementary School. Any additional questions or concerns
may be directed to PVSA at 946-8397, x130 or PVSA@aasdcat.com.
Sincerely,
Dana M. Thompson, President Pleasant Valley School Association
